Injectables

Botox®

Botox Cosmetic® is a neuromodulator manufactured by Allergan. This means that once injected, it blocks signals from the nerves to the muscles prohibiting muscle contraction. Once the muscle movement is restricted, wrinkles relax and soften. Botox® is most often used on forehead lines, crow’s feet (lines around the eye), and frown lines. Botox® will not help with wrinkles caused by sun damage or gravity.

The full effect of the treatment typically takes 7-14 days and the effects last 3-4 months. As the muscle movement begins to return, the lines and wrinkles start to reappear. Over time, the lines and wrinkles soften and often appear less severe. This is due to the muscles shrinking with continued treatments.

You may have some temporary side effects after a Botox® injection. These could include:

  • Bruising. This is the most common side effect and will go away. · Headaches. Typically, these are rare and end in 24 to 48 hours.

  • Eyelid drooping. This happens with only a small percentage of people and usually goes away within 3 weeks. It usually happens when the Botox® moves around, so don't rub the treated area. · Crooked smile or drooling · Eye dryness or severe tearing · Mild pain or swelling around the injection site. · Flu-like symptoms or a general unwell feeling · Upset stomach

  • Numbness

  • Weakness in nearby muscles

Those who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a neurological disease should not use Botox®. Consult with your doctor first.

JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC

JUVÉDERM® is the #1 chosen dermal filler collection in the US* that offers several unique and long-lasting fillers. Each one adds volume and is designed for different needs in specific areas of the face including lips, cheeks, chin, smile lines, under eyes, or jawline. At the Hamilton Clinic our number one choice is JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC. This hyaluronic acid-based filler was first approved by the FDA in 2006 and corrects moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. It can be injected into the areas of facial tissue to temporarily add volume to the skin, which may also give the appearance of a smoother surface. JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC lasts up to one year with optimal treatment.

Commonly reported side effects of JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus XC injectable gels were temporary injection-site redness, swelling, pain/tenderness, firmness, lumps/bumps, bruising, itching, and discoloration. They were predominantly mild or moderate in nature and lasted 7 days or less.

JUVÉDERM® VolumA XC

JUVÉDERM® is the #1 chosen dermal filler collection in the US* that offers several unique and long-lasting fillers. Each one adds volume and is designed for different needs in specific areas of the face including lips, cheeks, chin, smile lines, under eyes, or jawline. At the Hamilton Clinic we choose JUVÉDERM® Volume XC for the correction of volume loss to the cheeks, jawline, chin, and nose. As we age, cheeks may flatten and cause the skin to sag, bone loss can create a weaker jawline and lack of volume in the chin can cause asymmetry. These are all age-related volume loss. JUVÉDERM® Voluma XC adds volume beneath the skin’s surface providing lift and contour along with a more youthful appearance.

Longer lasting results (up to 2 years with optimal treatment) are maintained since this product does not bind with the water in your body causing it to break down as quickly as those fillers containing hyaluronic acid. JUVÉDERM® Voluma XC is a good option for those seeking longer-lasting results.

Common side effects include temporary reactions at the injection site such as tenderness, swelling, lumps/bumps, bruising, pain, redness, discoloration, and itching. These temporary reactions generally last 2-4 weeks at most.

SKINVIVE™

SKINVIVE™ by JUVÉDERM® is the first and only FDA-approved hyaluronic acid (HA) microdroplet injectable in the US to improve skin smoothness of the cheeks.

As we age our skin loses its ability to stay hydrated. With SKINVIVE™, you will see and feel increased hydration and skin smoothness as well as a visible lasting GLOW for up to 6 months with optimal treatment. SKINVIVE™ can be referred to as a "skin booster" rather than a filler since its job isn’t to rebuild volume like other fillers on the market but rather to hydrate your skin and give you a glow. Droplet injections of the product are placed superficially (just on the outer layer of your skin, or your epidermis) to the cheek areas. Once deposited, it diffuses into an even layer to create a "glowier" you. You may see some plumping shortly after, but full results develop within a few weeks. The injections have also shown to stimulate collagen production. The risks of SKINVIVE™ are the same as most other cosmetic injectables — which is to say mild and usually temporary.

Radiesse®

Radiesse® is the first and only FDA-approved CaHA portfolio that provides immediate contouring plus stimulation of collagen and elastin production which make it a great option for hand rejuvenation. The two components of skin change over time are due to loss of collagen and elastin. These two components contribute to the skin’s strength and elasticity and the loss of these components steals that youthful appearance you once had. The CaHA particles contained within Radiesse® integrate into your skin and create a scaffold that stimulates the production of your lost collagen and elastin therefore restoring the volume loss and minimizing the visibility of veins and tendons for a more youthful presentation. The correction is long lasting but not permanent. The CaHA microspheres naturally degrade and are metabolized by your body’s own natural processes.

SYSTEMIC IV NUTRIENTS

The purpose of these treatments is to provide supplemental vitamins and micronutrients into your body to improve the body's state of health and overall well-being. Potential side effects are minimal and can be discussed prior to treatment. We offer the following IV nutrients:

Meyer's Cocktail (Vit C High Dose):

Support your immune system, replenish lost nutrients and reinvigorate your body, with a combination of magnesium, zinc, B-Vitamins (including B12), Vitamin C, and IV fluids that are administered intravenously. This can be very beneficial if you are treating or recovering from a medical condition or want to remain in peak health condition all year round.

Anti-Aging/Skin Lightening (Glutathione):

This fountain of youth infusion is everyone's dream leaving you glowing. Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant that your body produces naturally but decreases production due to health conditions and the aging process. Fortunately, it can be maintained by our Anti-Aging/Skin Lightening IV Therapy comprised of Vitamin C and Glutathione. Glutathione is comprised of three amino acids - glycine, glutamine, and cysteine. This group of acids boosts the immune system and detoxifies your body. It can also turn the melanin of your skin into a lighter color by shutting down the enzyme tyrosinase that causes pigmentation. This treatment also helps with inflammation and cardiac health. The treatment lasts between 15-20 minutes while you sit comfortably in a chair. You are able to return to daily activities immediately.

Immunity/Inflammation:

Improve cell production, immune system function, heart health, muscle health and reduction of inflammation and pain at the cellular level with our IV Immunity/Inflammation Boost. This treatment is comprised of Vitamin C and Zinc to give you an overall immunity boost to equip your body with a comprehensive wellness toolkit to ensure resiliency, vibrancy and overall health.

Restoration/resurfacing

Microneedling

Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure that uses a pen device to create small superficial micro-channels to the outermost layer of the skin, inducing the healing process to produce collagen and elastin for skin rejuvenation. These proteins help keep skin firm and smooth. This procedure has been shown to reduce the visibility of acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, diminish hyperpigmentation, and improve skin tone and texture.

Here at Hamilton Clinic, you can choose to have PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) derived from your blood or our Hyaluronic Acid serum to be used with your treatment. A microneedling treatment usually takes about 1 hour. A topical anesthetic is applied to the face and removed prior to treatment to make the patient comfortable during the procedure. This treatment is safe and effective with minimal downtime and short recovery time. You may experience redness to the skin and slight bruising that usually resolve within 2-3 days.

Paramedical tattooing

Paramedical tattooing, also known as paramedical micro-pigmentation, is a cosmetic procedure where application is to camouflage and conceal scars and skin deficiencies. It is a great restorative post-surgical procedure to replace what you once had or may have not been born with. It focuses on matching human skin colors and making the process unnoticeable to the human eye by making scars/skin conditions look more natural. The advances in technology and pigmentation processes make paramedical tattooing safe and a less costly method for many patients who are considering alternative surgical and medical procedures.

Here at Hamilton Clinic, we provide a thorough evaluation and with the use of the “NUE” Device technology by NUE Conceal, we can precisely determine the perfect pigment combination to give the best aesthetic outcome. Call our office for more information or to schedule a consultation.

dermabrasion

A long-ignored aspect of facial aging is the volume loss, skin changes, and formation of lines seen in the perioral region. Loss of premaxillary bone above the upper lip, and general atrophy in the area often produces a partially collapsed version of a once youthful, full mouth area. A combination of stem cell/fat grafting to gently and precisely correct volume loss and the lines that form above the lip, along with skin resurfacing or dermabrasion, complement and enhance the overall success of high-quality facial rejuvenation.
